Writer's Statement

Surviving cancer is a proactive pursuit. Those participating in the Finding Strength  exhibit are people who take action, who explore and discover. Many hours of their day are spent on this disease. Some are leaders, some want to fight and some just want to know peace. How do they find the strength? What do we say to them? How do we find courage rather than fear in their stories? That’s what I wanted to find out.

More than nine million people live with cancer in the United States today. Add their family members and friends and you have a whole lot of people looking at an uncertain future. The professionals at Wellness Place are helping those in our area on this journey. We portray their side of the story as well. They let people know, "You are not alone."
