   Cancer Survivors Celebrate Life

Barrington & Palatine, Illinois.  “Finding Strength,” a photography and narrative exhibit revealing the poignant experiences of those touched by cancer was unveiled in Barrington, Illinois in alliance with The Barrington Area Arts Council.  The exhibit features cancer survivors, their families, caregivers and clincial professionals -- all of whom are connected through Wellness Place, a cancer resource center located at 1619 West Colonial Parkway in Palatine.

The exhibit drew more visitors on opening night than any other exhibit in the Council's history.

The Finding Strength exhibit is the collaborative work of Barrington artists photographer Susan McConnell and writer Mary Klest.  Other unique exhibits recently created by them include "The Gift of Knowing" for Hospice of Northeastern Illinois and "A Ride to Remember" featuring members of the Barrington Fire Department.”

“We are fortunate to have this opportunity to honor Wellness Place participants and their stories,” said Wellness Place President, Jack Wood.  “We know this exhibit will inspire viewers to examine life challenges in a new light as a result of learning how cancer survivors celebrate life.”
